LUNG - Metastatic osteogenic sarcoma

Description
This is a portion of the right lower lobe of the lung showing two discrete rounded nodules, one apical and the other basal. The microscopy of the lesion is that of metastatic osteogenic sarcoma.
History
At the age of 14 this boy presented with an osteogenic sarcoma of the right femur. The leg was amputated and he received chemotherapy. A year later he developed a cough and an X-ray showed the lesions shown here. There was no evidence of further spread and the lobe was removed, but six months later he was found to have boney metastases.
